Food, Friends, Thoughts and Feelings

Friendships are lovely

I caught up with a childhood friend yesterday. It was a two hour meet up as she is a super busy stay home mom with a helper and three kids.

The last time we met was two years ago. I’m reminded of how we lost touch and later got back in touch, the organic way with the help of fate. I’m so blessed.

We were kindergarten classmates, and progressed to the same class in Primary 1 and 2. I moved and transferred school. We kept in touch until Secondary two. And the next time I called her, I was informed by her Mother that she has gone overseas to study.

Time flew by. I went to polytechnic, and then local university. Led a busy life with stressful studies and met many new friends. Two and a half years into my first permanent job after graduation I started to attend pool gatherings organized by pool fanatics over the Internet. I didn’t know American pool at all, and could only watch. A gentlemen approached me to invite me to his own clique, which has fewer people so that I could get my hands on a pool cue and pick up pool. I went and on my first appearance, I found a lady very familiar. After I got to know the group better, we chatted one day and upon her mention of where she stayed, the puzzle was pieced! She is my childhood friend’s elder sister, who is also my elder brother’s classmate in Primary 1 to 4.

That was how I got back in touch with my dear friend. Here’s our food fir for yesterday’s meetup. Slurp. Nice!
Portobello Mushroom Soup and Squid Ink Pizza!
